Children

If a child is ready to learn, he or she will do so without needing great assistance. He/she will take pleasure in learning how to tie his/her shoe laces or hold his/her pencil properly. For a child, learning is part of the natural way of life and often by means of a game.

However, some children are not ready to learn even if they are of age to succeed in tasks we ask of them. Certain steps throughout their development are not very successful (even if we may not have had the luxury of having observed those steps) and so certain milestones are lacking thus impeding the success of the task an adult may ask of them (increase in self confidence or academic skills).

The occupational therapist will work on the basics skills in order to enable the child to thereafter continue his or her development.
